, maryland say they are dealing with the violent crime spike that includes the city's first murder of the year. early sunday morning, 36-year- old lamont ellis was found shot dead in an alley. friends and family members gathered at a vigil last night and while fox 5 was working the story, shots rang out nearby. officers raced to that scene. it turned out to be a street fight involving 15 to 20 people along west south street. one person was stabbed and is in serious condition. no word for the two incidents are related. >>> a local university professor killed in a tragic accident in northwest. a driver hay medical emergency and lost control of her vehicle. she hit professor rhett leverett as he stood on the sidewalk at sixth and e street. he taught history at marymount with an emphasis on european history. he was 60 years old. >>> protesters will continue today to mark the one-year anniversary of the occupy d.c. movement. protesters will hold a veteran march at noon at freedom plaza as well as a protest tonight in front of the bank of america on vermont and l street. yesterday, protester ma

first time myself. it looks like that will go right over ocean city and right over the washington area later tonight and if this verifies, we'll have some serious issues around here i'm afraid by tomorrow afternoon. eventually, the storm will get out of here but it will take a couple of days' time. notice the wind field. we'll pull all of this a little further to the south and to the west. if this pulls through ocean city, we'll be dealing with the hurricane-force winds here in washington. i'm try to update this map for you. again, very concerned that we'll have hurricane-force winds and again, if that track were to track a little further to the south and west, we'll have major issues here. we had a wind gust closer to 30 in washington. 22 in leonardtown. this is just the preliminary event. this is around 1:00. these winds are going to pick up laterred it and as mentioned, they will be close to hurricane force later. by 11:00, notice much of the area in on the heavy rain. ocean city will be dealing with up to a foot of rain when things wrap up. later this afternoon of course the r
